Live Video Streaming for Municipalities

My name is Barb Kagley, I'm the Cable Access Manager for the city of Avon Lake and our department handles all digital media

We film all council meetings, and they air live on our cable access channel, so it's really available to people that are looking for it, but I want to reach a new audience I want to get out there and get to the people that aren't watching cable access or don't have cable, and I want to be where our residents are I assume that they're all sitting at home checking email, doing whatever, and I want it to be here The city itself has a strong philosophy of educating, and the only way to really educate people is to get the message out I think streaming is the way to do that

Residents are going to watch it because they're interested in it, and they're going to be interested either because it's information that they didn't know, and they want to feel empowered and understand their community and know what's going on, or engaging a sense of community I want to get people on the website to see what we have, so I'm using BoxCast's embedding into the website I have a button pop up on my home page and it says "council streaming now" and you press through and then it's got its own page I have seen it all and BoxCast was so easy Boop, boop, boop, done! Yeah, love it

No thinking at all It's perfect! It's been very easy, like I said we plugged it in, it went, I get on the interface, I push my buttons and it's been seamless
