How to make a 24/7 music live stream (2019) Universal settings Updated

hey what's up it's Dell and this is how to make a 24/7 live music stream open up your web browser and head on over to OBS projects calm now select the one for your operating system once it's done downloading guys you're going to want to open it up just click Next make sure you guys install it once you have it installed make sure you open it up okay so you don't want to go into the settings you're gonna want to go to Stream you're gonna go to service going to select the service that you use you're gonna pick the server closest to you and then you're gonna enter your stream key okay next you gonna want to go into output you don't want to go into the output mode want to make sure you select simple go to video bitrate you can leave this around 500 to 600 but if your video quality doesn't look so good make sure you turn this number up encoder software x264 audio bitrate you don't want to leave this to roughly 160 enable advanced encoder setting make sure that's checked uncheck in for streaming service bitrate limits encoder preset you don't want to change that to superfast next you're gonna want to go into video go to base campus resolution I have mine set at 1920 by 1080 but make sure you guys are just is supporting lead to what you want it make sure that the output scale is always the same size make sure these two are the same downscale filter you don't want to check bilinear common at PS you can actually drop this all the way down to 20 FPS since you're only streaming music but if you want better quality or you're streaming videos make sure you guys leave this around 30 okay once you're done just hit apply okay so now I'm gonna show you guys how to add an image you're gonna want to go to sources hit the plus sign go all the way to says image click on image name it whatever you want browse your computer until you find the image that you want to use for your background click okay now you're gonna want to resize it just hit one of the corners and drag it until it's resized so just in case you don't want a still image and you want a moving slide show you're gonna want to go back to the sources click the plus sign you're gonna want to go up into it says image slideshow you're gonna want to name that whatever you want you're gonna want to go all the way to the bottom and you're gonna want to click the little plus sign where it says image files you're gonna add your files you're gonna select the files that you want click open and click OK now make sure you guys resize the image appropriately and always always make sure that your files are the exact same size because if you don't then you're gonna have weird cut off sections why a stream is going just like this so if you don't want to use any images but you actually want to add video you're gonna want to go back to your sources go to the plus sign you're gonna want to go into it says media source you're gonna name this whatever you want you're gonna go and locate the file that you want to use once you found it click open make sure that you click on Luke so that way the video loops click OK make sure you resize the video appropriately and that's how you add a video so just in case you want to add text to the stream you're gonna want to head on over to sources hit the plus sign go recessed text GDI plus you don't want to name that whatever you want go to font you're gonna want to select the font resize it whatever you want and click OK now you're gonna go to the text box and type in whatever you want go down and right here you can actually change the color the opacity of the text background color background opacity alignment vertical alignment so you have a bunch of different options just mess around until you have your text the way you like it once you have it done you don't need to want to resize that move it around to wherever you want there you go okay so now I'm gonna show you guys how to display the song that you're playing on your stream and the way you're gonna do that is you're gonna want to get on over to the github comm you don't want to go to this address I will put the link in the description once you're here you're gonna want to download the latest version by going a little bit down and finding the dot zip file click download and what you want to do is you're gonna want to drag that file to your desktop so showing folder and just drag it in there once you have this file here you're going to want to open it up and you're gonna want to drag this snip folder on to your desktop now you can place this folder wherever you want just remember exactly where you place it because you're gonna have to go back to it eventually just in case you don't want it on your desktop now you're gonna want to open it up and in here you're gonna want to click the little application icon and now that it started it has generated a text file for me and if there isn't a docx text file that gets generated make sure that you play a song first through snip now that's installed guys you're gonna want to go to the bottom of your bottom right hand corner and you're gonna look for this little round circle which is snip if you don't see at the bottom right corner just click the little arrow and look for it now you're gonna want to right-click it and now you're going to want to be selecting the audio player that you're going to be using I personally use VLC but if you can see snip actually uses a couple of different ones so just select the one you're going to be using now that you selected it you're going to want to open up your audio player and you're going to want to play a quick song so that way you can generate the dot txt file now that you've done that there should be a dot txt file in the folder and now we're gonna show you how to connect this to OBS you don't want to get back to OBS you're going to want to click the plus sign in the sources menu you're going to want to add text GDI plus name that whatever you want you're going to want to click the little read from file box then you'll be prompted with a brand new little menu you're going to want to go where it says text file utf-8 you're going to want to browse go find your snip folder that you just recently downloaded and you're going to want to select the text file that you just created you're going to of course adjust the text the way you want it click OK and now it's actually here but you actually need to play a song so that way you can see the actual text so now that I'm playing a song in the background you guys can see that a text is appearing and that's the song that I'm playing and then that's how you display your songs on your screen and that's pretty much it guys that's all you really need to know on how to make a cool live music stream and I'm gonna show you guys something that I made so that way you guys can see this is me just pretty much putting all the skills that we just learned together and I made this right here last thing you need to know guys is that you do need to leave your computer running 24/7 365 if you want it to be continuous but there's nothing more to do it get creative I hope you guys enjoy this tutorial peace out
